My portfolio project focuses on the effect that Christianity has had on global and American culture, distorting the idea of what it means to be a woman and what it means to be human. I have taken classic, Christian symbols and paintings and have wharped and edited them in order to illustrate the damage done by traditional, Christian ideals and their view on female "purity," reproductive rights, and the woman's place in the world. Through this project, I come to terms with my personal experiences with and resentment of Chrisitianity and the effect it has had on me, and countless other women.

As abortion rights continue to be stripped away from women in the United States, this project acts as a strong statement against the misogyny and outright disregard and disrespect for women in this country and around the world.
